Co-owner: St. Charles medical marijuana dispensary to open in December
ST. CHARLES – A medical marijuana dispensary is likely to open by mid-December in St. Charles, one of its co-owners stated in an email.
HealthWay Services of West Illinois has set up a dispensary on the city’s far east side at 3714 Illinois Ave., St. Charles.
“I’m very glad to be one of the pioneers of this unique industry in Illinois,” co-owner Dmitrey Stebley stated in the email.
A website for the dispensary – www.healthwestil.com – now is live with some information with more details to be added, Stebley stated.
Irina Zhukovsky is the other co-owner of the dispensary. Stebley and Zhukovsky worked with Chicago-based Real Restoration to construct the 2,500-square-foot dispensary space.
Drawing inspiration from his work consulting on the construction of medical marijuana cultivation centers and dispensaries in Colorado, Real Restoration Founder and CEO Morris Gershengorin and his team had a clear vision for the St. Charles dispensary, according to a news release.
The building is designed to provide a safe environment while fulfilling patient demand, the release stated.
Real Restoration was meticulous in its material selection to maintain a soothing aesthetic and worked closely with the project architects to ensure all code standards, security and state regulations were met, according to the release.
The St. Charles dispensary would be the second dispensary to open in the area. On Nov. 10, PharmaCannis opened a dispensary at 161 S. Lincolnway, Suite 301, North Aurora.
All dispensaries have to be licensed by the Illinois Department of Professional and Professional Regulation under the Illinois Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Pilot Program Act.
Patients who have designated the St. Charles dispensary as their preferred dispensary can bring their state-issued Medical Cannabis Registry Identification Card to buy medical marijuana.
